Born in the quaint city of Durham, North Carolina, Jones began his sports tenure while studying at Methodist University. There he achieved numerous recognitions as the leading scorer and rebounder. For his accomplishments across straight conference and tournament championships and NCAA berths, Methodist retired his #21 jersey and inducted him into the Methodist University Hall of Fame. In addition to that, the city’s mayor named November 16th as Greg “Basketball” Jones Day in his honor.

Since then, Greg has been serving as president of a nonprofit organization titled the Beautiful Foundation Fund (BFF) in Raleigh, North Carolina. Yet, even here, for his love of the sport, he also gives lectures on leadership and spiritual growth to inspire the next generation of basketball players and sportspeople of every background. He also writes motivational books like Pure Shooters Are Born Not Made where he dives into the cerebral nature of the game and imparts his wisdom for the benefit of the masses.
