Frequently asked questions:

How should I prepare my eBook file for ePub conversion?

A few tips: make sure your print book copy or digital file is proofread and adjust any layout and formatting issues before submission for conversion. Pay close attention to details like font size, text, and special characters.

How do I set up hyperlinks in my manuscript?

HYPERLINKS

To link text in your eBook to a website, insert hyperlinks into your Word document before submitting. This ensures accuracy and that URLs direct to the correct sites.

PC: Highlight the text you want to link. Go to the Insert tab and select Hyperlink (the globe with a chain icon). In the window that appears, enter the text you want to display in the “Text to Display” field and paste the web address into the “Address” field. The “Text to Display” can be different from the actual URL.

MAC: Highlight the text you want to link. Go to Insert > Hyperlink. In the window, enter the web address in the “Link to:” field. In the “Display” field, type how the text should appear in your manuscript. The “Display” text can be different from the URL in the “Link to” address.

Are there any restrictions on content?

Material You Did Not Create: If you did not create all the content in your book, you should not publish it. Items that might be public domain, fair use, creative commons, or for editorial purposes are typically not allowed by our distribution partners. Issues may arise with political cartoons drawn by others, corporate logos, celebrity photos, popular cartoon characters, and song lyrics. If you use any content you did not create, you must have legal documentation proving your agreement with the content creator or copyright holder.
