It all started when a group of friends began to meet and prayerfully consider what it would look like to pursue an experience in which people who did not look the same would come together to worship and encourage each other in their faithfulness to Jesus. In those moments the radical idea of a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-generational body of believers began to grow in our hearts!
As we prayed and studied God’s Word, it became increasingly clear that God was up to something and that the best way to accomplish His purposes for us was through the formation of a new, local gathering of God’s people. After a time of reflection, this core group of 8 passionate people entered into covenant agreement to serve Christ and His purposes as Ascension Church.
We spent our first meeting together discussing, planning and agreeing that the beliefs, purposes and values of this body would guide us to be faithful stewards of the Lord’s work. Together we began to press towards the mark and answer the call to go higher in Him!
